As the title suggests but rather than skeletons in the closet more of where did that come from or unanswered questions that would be interesting if ever answered.
For me it would be the fact that there's some Scandinavian ancestry in my Father's family.
The who , where and how is unknown but would be interesting to find out and where that part of the family originates and what's the connection is and what lead to the circumstances that subsequently to being a part of my ancestry.
Then is there anything I do that's a trait that's decended from that part of the family line???

It wasn't just pillaging that those Vikings had a reputation for..
How do you know about the ancestry connection, have you had a DNA test done?

When my mother was only about 12 her mum was hit by a drunk driver and never really got over it mentally or physically, she had to more or less take over looking after the house around going to school.
There was an older brother helped a bit and an older sister but the sister couldn't come to terms with it and never helped at all and she simply vanished one night and never made contact as long as they lived. Mum made a few attempts putting adverts in national papers etc.

By a bizarre co-incidence of meeting someone else who was a neighbour while in hospital briefly, it was eventually discovered she had moved to Nottingham but only lived a couple of years not clear what happened but that would have been mid 1950s so any hope of a reunion in the 70s and 80s had no chance of success.

I've recently met a cousin of my father, I'd never known he existed until my aunt tracked him down a few years ago
Basically my granny and her sister had a falling out at some point
In fact about 12 years ago I met another cousin of father's, he said it was 56 years since he had last seen father
I understand his parents had fallen on hard times and moved to Liverpool, I think, looking for work and had lost contact

Sister did DNA test.
As for the concept with Vikings and rape and pillage , while possibly an element of truth, and certainly no different to many other cultures (The Polynesian/Micronesian certainly did there fair share but with a bit of slavery/cannibalism)actually appears to be a bit of historical fiction that's been embellished over the last 100 or so odd years that seems to be accepted mythology.
Writers, journalists, the media and the film industry portray a romanticise image or perception which is made into reality much like how stonehenge is a place of pagan rituals with regard in particular to the solstices yet in reality its nothing more than a rotary formation for an early milking parlour/wintering barn for livestock predominately those bovine.
