Anyone gone today? I'm hoping to go up tomorrow, signed up and printed a ticket out and everything!
What used to be a can't-miss event when it was at Newark has become a 'do I really want to go?' every couple of years now it's at the NEC, all the interesting little stands in the tents have gone. And you get royally shafted for the car parking. I'm looking forward to nuclear reactor hot lava pasty for the journey home.

Any good? Went to Newark most years in the noughties, many an hour sat in traffic on the A1 šŸ™„
 
Nope, didn't like it. Too many people packed into too small an area. I was actually home quite early, I got my 6 nroso points and got out of there after about two hours (although I did stop at a Lidl and eat a chicken tikka bake or two in their car park!) I got talking to some bloke I bumped into in a crowded bit, and we agreed that it was strange that we could squeeze between cattle without a thought, but try doing it with humans and panic sets in!
And they ran out of beef pasties. It annoyed me, but there was a Cornishman behind me that I thought was going to have a heart attack on being told that.

I'm not very good at remembering to take pictures, but the 16' livestock box was worth a snap. That'll soon have you in the ditch on a wet road!
 
I did some shopping while I was there: a new hat for the summer:

Now I've loaded the picture I realise that I could have picked a more suitable, contrasting background, but I'm comfy in this chair and not getting up for that!
I bought a new smock/hoody too. With one of those really thick hoods that all builders seem to wear, a zipped kangaroo pocket at the front, and a long tail piece down the back to keep your crack covered and cosy when you bend over.
