What's this all about they want to make them classed as a 'company car' and thus more expensive to run by the sound of it?

Only if you’re an employee getting a company vehicle to use for personal use, free gratis

There must be some good information in there, but I'm not wading through all the other stuff to find it!

This won't affect me, partly because I've got a proper pick up not a double cab (it's a King Cab, but I'm pretty sure it's treated as a real one) and mainly because it's mine and not a company vehicle that I'm claiming any Benefit In Kind from, which seems to be the only thing affected - so far.
And that's another thing, people jumping straight to using acronyms (BIK in this case) with no mention of what it means leading up to it. (Benefit in kind).
 
I’ve got 2 crew cabs sitting outside my house, but my house is my office so I’m not phased about it, it’s the employee foresters who are going to be hit hard unless they opt for a king cab or poverty spec single cab

Mine's a king cab.

Longer bed than a double cab, little suicide doors to get in the back, where there's just enough room for the dog and a toolbox on pads that are supposedly 'seats', but not really for fully grown adults, not for any distance anyway.
The best compromise in my opinion, and I can't understand why there's not more of them around.
