Covid19 v Joe Public

Getting a bit fed up of some farmy types whinging on about the Thank x y or z or clap for whoever there are some very divisive posts about.

Whoever is working just now, no matter what their job is deserves some respect, and some should consider themselves lucky they dont have to try their best, while worrying themselves sick, to practice social distancing and do their jobs.

No one likes the clap... :ROFLMAO:

My view is we should have a severe lockdown for at least a month, and hope that gets on top of things.
A lockdown does not mean using the countryside instead of the town.
A lockdown doesn't mean setting off in the campervan to West Wales.
A lockdown doesn't mean reopening shops and cafes after a week.
Maybe it's much a do about nothing. On the other hand it could be the worst thing to hit mankind for centuries. I really don't know.
The only sensible thing I've seen posted " In another place " is...... " Prepare for the worst, and hope for the best ".

Overrun here ,farming on the urban fringe of a city is bad enough under normal circumstances ,but Christ this is something else now if we stopped and tried to explain its private land please keep to the paths theres that many of them we would get nowt done ,fortunate no stock but to have tribes of people ,walking dogs ,jogging , cycling or just hey lets go kick a ball round with the kids and nowhere near the public footpaths in a field your actually in drilling and they just look at you like sh1t as you cover them in dust is not boding well for the future ,I dread to think the number of bloody problems when we start spraying in earnest
if the plod walked up some paths round here they would have a bloody field day with social distancing

Signs up "Sprayed with chemicals, keep to the edge" - water is a chemical and weather does the spraying? Worth a try.

Lots of walkers and cyclists here. It amuses me as the younger ones are walking desperately trying to find a signal on their phones and not looking at the countryside at all. Two women and a little dog walked past yesterday evening when I was putting up a frame for the sweet peas (which are not up yet!), the chickens were heading back to their coop for the night so were on the lawn, and the dog and cat helping me. I heard "oh how quaint" as they walked past. I have never been called quaint before!

Apparently the police turned back over 200 campers and caravans heading for Pembrokeshire in the last couple of days. They also had to shut the local beaches which is a shame because many of the locals walk their daily.

Ffs, do poms have a problem with the concept of no entry into a property, either house or farm unannounced , uninvited or unrequested?!!!😡

They would not walk into a house, but farmland is countryside and available to wander at will, in their eyes. That, and a bit of inverted snobbery, its only yours cos you are rich etc.. Many areas of moors etc are open access to the public normally and most cannot tell a moor from a field of growing corn.
