Compressors

I feel the need for a replacement compressor.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, simple to use compressor, please?
I only use it for blowing up tractor tyres and occasionally for blowing crud off radiators.
Thanks, Ann

I am looking at the moment too, after thieves damaged the one in my outfarm trying to steal it. I am not an expert in any way, just looking for a middle of the road one that can run an airgun now and again This is the one I am looking at, might be a bit of overkill for what you want.
Would something like this be big enough?
Blowing out rads needs a fair bit of air.

The pictures are slightly different machines, the two outlets are just two supplies, so you can multi task :D
It's electric

The one I have just now is oil free.
Problem is that when it fills up the tank and switches off, it doesnt switch back on properly and I have to turn it off completely and wait.

There is a plastic knob beside the on off switch and pressure gauge, a bit of easing oil into this and turn it up and down a few times, may solve that issue.

With current H&S rules, if you buy a new compressor can you forget about getting it tested for a period or are you supposed to get it tested before you even use it?

Below 250 bar/litres you are exempt so at 8bar (115psi) you could have a 30 litre tank by my reckoning
So this would be exempt?
Quite tempted to get one at that price, to see whether it’s at all useable. My ‘current’ compressor must be over 20yo with a huge tank by comparison, but I rarely use it a lot.

Would it just be rubbish?

Took some finding, the actual legislation but

As for that compressor, the Clarke ones at Machine Mart seem very similar, probably just the paintwork

If you are trying to blow up a tyre it will take ages, and if it’s a high pressure trailer tyre, then it probably won’t even manage.
I found it much faster than the foot pump
Obviously it's not going to compare with a big desiel road compressor
