Compressors

We bought one of these in may 21 been good so far , it was £524 + vat then

It replaced one of these which only lasted 10 months, two year warranty was as useless as their customer service.pile of scrap.

Gone up a bit🤔

It's called inflation don't you know?
@10% pa that's why interest rates have gone up , the Bank of England use the price of imported compressors as an excuse to squeeze us even hardero_O

Around here many farmers have had HSE inspections. They are couched as being nicey nicey but as soon as they find a fail they become chargeable which I understand starts at over £400.
And they come back to check you’re compliance.

Hence the question; can I sidestep that by ditching my old compressor and getting a new low capacity model?

What’s the regulations on testing compressors, I’m a one man band, do I need it tested? How many farmers get compressors tested??
Over 250bar litres. Mate has a big one that'll run a 3/4 windy gun, gets his tested but he employs a couple of lads. From what I saw the tester seemed to do a general condition check, drain the tank of any moisture and check it switched off

or hiding the old one at inspection time ?

The thing is; HSE bods (probably) aren’t idiots. All farms will have a compressor because all farms need to check and inflate their tyres; it’s unlikely we do it elsewhere. They may believe I only use a small volume compressor which doesn’t need testing but they won’t believe I don’t have one at all 😉
Just show them your grandads old foot pump
