Covid19 v Joe Public

It wouldn't bother me personally one bit.
I'm just fretting a little about number 2 and her leaving primary and starting secondary. She's supposed to be going on a residential outward bound thing on the 28th June for 5 days with her primary friends, then a taster day at high school on the 5th July. After all the fun with the oldest, getting her settled in last year, I just feel these events would help prepare her more for the break from her friends 😕 Will they happen? 🤔
As yet, the residential trip is on, but the taster day is off 🙁 A load of year 7's have been sent home this week to self-isolate. Haven't a clue how they're working it, but they've been pulling them out of lessons and sending them home. So not really a surprise that they've had to sack the taster day off 😕
There is a summer school planned for the 26th July for a week, so I'm crossing my fingers that goes ahead 🤞 Otherwise, she'll be going straight to it in September, having only visited 2 years ago on an open evening.
Just depends if these figures drop. As usual the North West are leading the way 🙄

TV news tonight, seems UK has the most completed vaccinations plus the highest rate of new Covid cases??? or did I mis-hear/understand?

Debate on Question Time about letting football toffs in to watch the games without having to quarantine first. Why is it even being considered? The virus doesn't care if you're a nob or a knob, it will kill you if it gets a chance. Rules either apply to everyone or to no-one.

I think the breakdown was by age. Completed vax was in over 60s, most confirmed infections (although low hospitalisations / deaths) in the under 40s.
If you beleive the figures of course.

I'm surprised that FaceAche has kept the Survivor Corps postings up (Other thread). Thought they were zapping anything remotely contraversial or against the current push for - whatever that is..

Ditto, big (money spinning?) festivals and other well known sporting events. Social distancing and muzzles for the cameras, then a group hug on the beach for the G7? Ascot, Euro feetballs, Wimbledon?

Eldest niece got thrown out of school last week for having a "temperature". She'd been sat next to the window with the sun streaming in and got a bit warm. Teacher took her outside, it was actually quite cold out even though the sun was shining so she soon felt very cold. Teacher put 2 and 2 together and came up with 19, Cv19

Sis was summoned to collect her and take her to the mass testing site which was like a scene from ET. You must not open your car window more than an inch and a rear one at that, to take the kit, go to the far end of the car park to do the test. Drive back for someone to take the sample, again through the rear window with a grabby litter picker thingy. Get given a bar code ticket and go park up until the test is done.

Of course it was -ve but the school wanted the bar code ticket as proof before niece was allowed back on Monday. At no point did anyone at the school actually take her temperature, that would've been far too simple. I think sis sent them a sternly worded email🤬
