Flames could be seen tearing through Terminal Car Park 2, as seen in videos posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday.

Footage shows the massive blaze raging on the top floor of the multi-storey car park.

One video shows firefighters have arrived at the scene.

London Luton Airport tweeted "All flights are currently suspended as emergency services respond to a fire in Terminal Car Park 2.

"Access to the airport is currently restricted and we ask that people do not travel to the airport at this time."

The problem with lithium fires is trying to prevent them restarting. They can be got under control using conventional firefighting techniques, with difficulty, but they keep reigniting. So the dunk tank is for when the fire is under control, to stop it reigniting.
