Ardern did exactly the same, only NZ residents and citizens were allowed to come to NZ but let a plane load of US citizens in from LA.
As a government when you make a ruling or law before it don't "bend the rules" because that make you look weak.
Ditto for last year when she wouldn't let church congregation exceed 10 in number but would let gangs meet with 100-150 people.
Equally letting people go all over NZ by giving them 48 hours notice before a Level 4 lockdown but then if you believe I the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny then I guess you also have to believe virus' s wait 48 hours before they spread too.. ffs 🙄

Exactly the same was happening here.
 
This is the shite we get on TV , thankfully my aerial is still fecked like 20 months ago.
The scripted ,patronising and embellished performance from the PM every day is tedious and quite frankly gets irritating after 10-15 seconds.
Equally when the PM avoids eye contact that's one of the easiest way to signal she's out of her depth.

It's all about building up the idea of being in a major crisis with incremental fear so that new normal rules apply.
Psychological tactics which make the population more malleable.
The worst part is when they encourage the trend to report and pressurise your friends or neighbours who might not be doing 'the right thing'
Just don't watch it they had a similar thing here and some seemed to be practically hypnotised and turned into zombies with no will of their own.

Some of this footage looks like at Mercer up the road.
If you look at the centre of the opening footage at the end of the road cones in the distance, that's where I nearly got pinged by the Police when I was on my mountain bike at the start of the first lockdown, allegedly I was too far from Whangarmarino.... 🤔😆😆😆
